    try to find some books by Eliot Coleman and Barbara Damrosh, they are from Maine/NH area and are wonderful organic gardeners. Also Joe Eck-- he grew up in my town(NJ)--but now lives in NH-- he and his partner have a wonderful property and garden.

    Bush with red berries

    there are many bushes, trees with red berries, holly's both tree form and bush form, virburnams, barberrys, burning bushes(euonymus), hawthorns,castle spire(Ilex) Yew evergreens, nandina, Heavenly Bamboo,cotoneaster, female; Lady Acubia, dogwood's also have reddish berries. Just a quick list...

    Wanted Homemade Garden Remedies

    a mix of 4 tablespoons of fish emultions and 2 tablespoons powdered milk and one teaspoon of baking soda with 1/2 gal water, spray on rose foliage-- to prevent black spot. Also use on peonys, phlox and others that get white powdery mildew.

    herbs are very easy to go inside, on a sunny window or under a grow light bulb. I love making pesto from my basil on a cold february day.
