My mom has this neat looking tree growing in a pot. She doesn't remember planting it and it grew up this high in just this year. Thinking about taking a cutting for myself, but no idea what this is.

It looks vaguely familiar! Since it grew up that large in a season , I'd say it is a type of weed!
 
Ha! Well I may take some for myself anyways, it's one of the prettiest weeds I've ever seen! I'll probably keep it in a pot though, just in case it's the type that likes to take over everything :)
