I made a compost tumbler and I am ready to fill it. I read the formula should be 80% brown and 20% green (approximately). I have wood chips and dry leaves. This maybe a silly question, but since the leaves are brown, are they considered green material?

Dry leaves are considered brown........running over the dried leaves with a lawn mower helps to reduce the volumn and aids in decomposition
