We have an oak in our backyard that is dying slowly. Any ideas will be considered. At first the leaf color became light green then it got leaf spot. Now we still have leaves that are slightly darker but only half of it leafed out.

Sorry Lynn! Your tree looks like it is not going to survive! Could be viral, bacterial, or fungal! Check the trunk close to the ground and look for round holes...check the ground for saw dust around the base of the tree....if so then beetles have bored into the tree...other things to look for is dead bark the peals away easily....

Thanks Ron. We want to trim back the dead and keep feeding and watering it. Maybe it will come back but we have a tree guy next door who will take it down if it dies. A couple of the guys are giving us some hope but not much.

When the prognosis is terminal there is no nice way to say that it will be a lingering death!
My condolences! :(
Time to go look for a replacement....;)
