it just wiggled rather slowly, it was on the ground in some leaves. We think it is probably a moth of some kind but I couldn't find any info so see what kind. I even looked in books at the library. Everyopne has pics onf the moth or butterfly and not its pupa case. Charles put it in a better...

My boyfriend found a huge black caterpillar of some kind today. He was moving it as he thought it was a dog turd, but it moved! Look at the pictures and you'll see what I mean. I did a google search but turned up nothing. Can anyone tell me what it is? We are near Houston, TX if that helps.

I understand about the glasses Randy, I am blind without mine, and to think I spent 30 years being nearsighted, now my arms aren;t long enough, lol.

it's gorgeous sssmuffin, well worth the time. I did a cross stitch of 3 wise men that took about 8 yrs because I didn't work on it steady, so I know how much work goes into things like that.

My garden is certainly just like me, very eclectic, overflowing and somewhat messy. LOL. But it's true. I never seem to have enough hours in the day to get everything done and my arthritis stops me from working too long at a time. I like so many different things and a cottage garden suits me...

Gardeners are usually crafters as well, I remember on the old site we had at least one thread on crafts and I always got inspiration from seeing what others do. So share yours here.

Hopefully in Ontario you don't have fireants yet, nasty critters.
-
yup, we met on GG. Most years I plant fennel just for the caterpillars, but this year i did dill, they didn't seem to mind. I like all the critters except maybe the fireants.
I did find a great organic fire ant killer though that actually works. It's made with orange oil and compost tea...

I may live in a trailer park and I'm not the best gardener but I was pretty proud when I was given the Yard of the Month award back in May this year. I have a very eclectic, cottagey garden with a little of everything. I also have a lot of non blooming plants and plants that have short bloom...
