When leaves have been dropping, I've simply buried them just below teh surface of teh soil in the pot (I have a nice zebra plant). Just the last day or so, I have seen a small mushroom (now it is about 2 inches tall) growing a few inches from one of the stalks of teh zebra plant.

(1) Should I uproot the mushroom? Is it bad for the plant in any way?

(2) Does this tell me I am over- or under-doing anything to the soil?

Hi Paul!
Mushrooms are good and not to worry about them.
They help break down organic matter and turn it into available nutrients the plant can use.
The fact that you are seeing the spore structure means you are watering too much......
Try to cut down on the frequency of watering.

Will do, although the leaves were looking a little dry, so I did increase my pace of watering. We've been having a heat wave, and I was thinking that this last week, the air in the house had gotten a bit too dry. But I will cut down on the frequency.

Thanks!
