Hi Elsma,
There is no easy quick fix to get rid of pachysandra, and using weed killers such as round-up is not safe for you, pets and wildlife, or the life that lives in the soil!
How large is the area covered?
I grew some once and regretted it.....I had to dig down a good 6"s to remove all the roots....it is time consuming, but it is the safest way to go. Most of the root system is close to the surface, but digging lower ensures you get all the roots...sift through the soil carefully, and remove all the roots (do not compost)... if you miss any they will send up shoots that can be dug up as they appear....eventually you will get then all!

Here's a simple rundown of this removal method: https://www.ehow.com/how_5135820_rid-pachysandra.html

Digging them out is the most effective and safe way to prevent them from coming up. On the other hand, the professional way is using a tractor.
