Well I am pumped and ready to go with TOMATOES. Went to a grower and got 10 tomato plants they are about 3 ft. tall and full of blooms, Parks Whoppers, Celebrity and Better Boy. Then we got 14 smaller plants of Marglobe, already had 12 Big Boys'. Will be planting tomatoes soon and very soon!!!!

I started the Green Zebra and Chocolate Cherry today. I will just have to enjoy the Celebrity until they get going. I don't think it will be long. The weather is going to warm quick. Then watch out!!!!!

No Randy I don't. Hehehehe Those nice plants were $2.50 each, cheaper than the smaller plants at Lowe's etc. Most places want $5.00 for tomato plants that large. The Marglobe and Big Boy tomato plants are 6 or so inches. It gives Dewey a lot of pleasure to watch those tomatoes grow.

I can understand Dewey's attitude toward the growing. My wife has never been interested in the garden, but I just consider the fact that she is a city girl. She lets me play out there though.

Randy people don't realize it but Dewey was born and raised on a farm, I was the city girl. Hehehehehe

Where did you go wrong, Miss dale? LOL What is interesting to me is that Fiona really had no experience in the country and she is a country girl by choice. She wanted a home where she could have chickens, plant a garden, have a horse to train and all that stuff and she got what she wanted. But her three kids require a great deal of time. Being a Mom in today's culture doesn't leave much time for elective activities. Being a Mom that works outside the home is a formidable task.

We live on 3 acres not on the farm but if you see all the tractors Dewey has. People often ask him how much acreage he farms with all his equipment. Hehehehe

I love to garden and share the fruits of my (and Dewey's) labor. He plows and prepares the land and helps me plant. He isn't able to do a lot of the picking in the garden but he never was thrilled to pick. He does help shell peas and butterbeans. That usually has always been my job.

Randy as you know I never had children, didn't realize why until 10 years ago found out I had ovarian cancer and endometriosis. I worked outside the home, was able to retire 6.5 years ago. Thank goodness I did because of the good insurance we have needed since Dewey had by pass heart surgery 13+ years ago. Just glad I will be 60 this year and still able to go even though arthritis is trying to move in on me.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter. Happy gardening one and all!!!

Miss Dale, even when things are looking pretty bleak, there are generally good things going on also. I work a lot slower and climb stairs a lot slower than I used to, but I can still do some work and I can still climb the stairs.

In spite of my lack of speed, I am still having a great time. And, as you say, each day is a blessing.

We are making another bed this weekend for the tomatoes that Dor sent me. It is going to have to a narrow one. We can only make it about 18" wide but we are going to make it 6ft. to 8ft. long. I only have one place left that I can put one right now. I can't wait until they start coming up!

It poured down rain Friday and Saturday. I went on a bus trip to the casino with my friend on Saturday and failed to bring in my tomato, pepper and cucumber seedlings. When I got home last night the rain had whipped my babies to death. I will plant some more and have a late harvest. 80 to 100 days till harvest will still give me lots of fruit before the end of my growing season.

Please post pics so that we can see your finished bed Kim. Mine won't be finished and filled with soil until Saturday. I will post pics when I finished. I want to plant on Saturday since the 25th supposed to be a good planting day here. I will have a busy day come next Saturday but I look forward to it. I pray that we don't get any rain.
