haven't read all the posts - have you tried cayenne pepper? I have used it with some success here in MD. It does need to be reapplied after a rain or a heavy dew. I use a monster jar from Sam's and just sprinkle it on the foliage. There is a line over which too much will fry the plant , though.

Crabbergirl says she will post a pepper spray that should do the same and a few other tricks of the trade, but thanks alot for your concern and replies. If it all works I can move all my plants outside real soon and just focus on an indoor tomato garden I already bought the equipment.

If you have a digging pest the ground pepper will discourage the digging. They can stand it up their noses.
Human hair woorks great to repel deer and some coons. Not all though it depends on how humaized they are.

This would be a perfect opportunity to make up a story, but I'll just let it go with a congratulatory pat on the back.

dear ron, i think am going to have to give up my EARL pepper soon, and he's about the best reason i have had to be a gardener for a looooong time...i have been trying to be a gardener for maybe eight years and after talking to and listening to the experts i am still nothing but a novice...i don't mind that don't get me wrong...the plants i have and the vegetables i grow are good to me... this forum and the EARL pickle have given me reason to get off my duff and try to do the stuff i see in the magazines....if there is another status to obtain then you can bet i will be trying my best to become SEASONED MEMBER ! you folks at this forum have given me something that's more than i thought i could have realized even with my extension office and i can't tell you how i much i appreciate that!THANK YOU!!!!
