    I wouldn't till up grass. It breaks up the rhizomes and they all sprout.

    It's those durn rhizomes. That's why I dig up everything, pick out the rhizomes and replant.

    Ground cover and possible weeds?

    Use a digging fork to loosen the soil then hold the sedum in place while you gently shake the weed loose. Press the sedum back down and water it. That weed looks like an oxalis. It might have tasty sour leaves.

    I use a pitch fork to completely dig up the whole bed, pick all the grass out and replant the berries.
