The scientific name of desert marigold is Baileya multiradiata, the plant is also called paper daisy, as the mature blooms have a papery texture. The desert marigold is also sometimes known as desert Baileya. The plants may actually reach a foot in height with big, yellow flowers that produce lots of seeds. The plant has some clumping, daisy-like mounds flowers that are shorter. The desert marigold plant is an herbaceous, short-lived perennial plant, returning again next year. The plant blooms begin in spring and may continue through summer. Caring for the desert marigold plants are simple as this particular specimen is basically carefree.
