Weed or not?

I am so glad I found this forum but I'm starting to feel like a pain. I'm not a gardener but I play one (not on tv though). Anyway, my friend wanted a bunch of lillys removed from one of her extremely full and overcrowded beds. There's a bunch of different things crammed in here and I'm not sure if this is a weed. There's a lot of it if it's a weed. I just need to figure out if I should put it back in the ground as I take the lillys out. Thanks as usual!

Looks like goldenrod!
It is a common native wildflower!
Whether you pull it out is up to you!
