Hi Ron....so glad it is actually YOU! Yup - a lot of muddy water - but funny how that water can clear when the source is gone and it is not being stirred up anymore! Took me a long time to get over the nastyness of it all!
How was your garden this year? Any new projects on the go? ANd the family - how are they all???? So glad Bob has given us this space to get back in touch with the gardening friends who mean so much to us.

It was a good growing summer with way too much rain and not enough sun. The gardens were more green then the year before with fewer blooms!

I am in the throws of renovating a house I inherited after the fellow who was living there was in a car accident! It is a long story! He was hit by a car as he was crossing the street to go to church. He was severly hurt and had several operations. This all happend in August and he is still in the hospital. We are waiting for an opening in a nursing home for him. Bob is 64 years old and will probably never be able to walk on his own again! It has been a very intense and busy couple of months! The funny thing about all this is that Bob is extremely happy that he no longer has to live alone in the house anymore. No cooking, cleaning, laundry and now has lots of attention! His meds are balanced, found out he was diabetic and is on daily insulan shots, everything is take care of and has nothing to worry or fret about, he is very positive about what happened to him!
We are working on the house to update it, and to make it look pretty. It will be another 2 months before all the renovations are complete. Then we will be able to put it up for sale. It really has been a busy time for all, and, I will be happy when its all over! I am tired, but I am managing pretty well!

Gosh Ron....sure sounds like you have your hands full.........we got rain this past summer, but just the "right amount".............my garden did rather well, I was happy with it...........:D, although I did make a section of the garden smaller.....just a bit.
Hey, how is that Benji? Did I get the name right?..............its been so long.

you got the name right mari-jo but he's got a new one too but I don't remember it's name. you've got a good memory....lol

Goodness Ron - you are a man of many talents! How nice of you to be lending a helpful hand to a friend in need. I love it when a negative turns into a positive, and it sounds like this friend had a life altering experience. Glad to hear he is happy now.
Yes - I too remember Ron's doggies - such cuties!

Good memory guys!!
Beni is doing well for a 10 year old! (a yorky and llapso cross)
We had to put Lady down 2 years ago due to old age health issuesm and now have Hedy to keep Beni company!
She is a bichon, poodle and shitzu cross and is as cute as a button! She is a bit too smart for her own good and teases Beni a lot. She is keeping him young!!

Jules
It is an interesting tale to tell about Bob, his sister and the family house! She passed away over 7 years ago and left me her brother and the house. Bob has a psychiatric problem and is mildly developmentally challenged. His sister, Kay, bribed me into taking charge of her brother if anything happened to her! Believe me when I say that he was a constant challenge because he got into so much trouble over the years.....I now call the house my battle pay!! It is such a relief that he is no longer living in the house and is now being placed in a long term nursing home! He is so happy and I am so relieved! I could share some of those moments, but if you ever watched the movie What About Bob you will understand what I had to go through over the last 7 years!!

I can only imagine what you have gone through ROn - you are a true gem for undertaking this commitment. Kay knew you would honour your promise and her brother obviously was in good hands. You can hold your head up high and proud....good people are hard to find in today's world and you were a true gift to her and Bob.

Jules!!

Oh my goodness, what a story Ron. I know for a fact that it takes a special kind of person to care for someone with developmental issues. I'm sure you are filled with all kinds of emotions for him, and I am so happy, for you, that HE is happy!

Good grief, did that make sense? LOL Can you tell it's 2am? :p

OMG !!! JULES? I getting confused.
Somehow I always thought you were a grand ole grandaddy Like Randy...Now reading this thread ,I think I made a huge mistake............
Please, I hope Ron and Bob are guys. That's what I mentally Picture them as...:)

Wow it is nice to catch up on everyone. Since GG folded I have moved to Texas and gotten out of the cold. I like it down here. I got my residency established so I've gone back to school. Hopefully I will have a teaching degree in a few years. I'm trying to take a full load so I can get the degree before I reach retirement age. It would be good to have some thing to fall back on in case anything happens to hubby. The way it stands right now I would be out in the cold. I'm just a little old to be working at McDonalds again. It didn't pay enough to support anyone anyway. It was extra money in the household but that was all.
Soon I will find out how many credits they are accepting from all of the old schools I've attended. I will then repeat anything I have to before moving on to the 4 year school up in Round Rock. I don't think I want to go to UT cause it costs so much. Texas State is a little cheaper and a school for teachers.
I do miss living close to my grandchildren. Sherri will be 17 soon. Becca is in jr high, Jamie in 4th grade, Curtis is in pre-K and Cameron is 2 and still at home with Mom. Back in the day Sherri would get off the school bus by my house and come over for cookies and cartoons before going home, They only lived 3 blocks from me then now it is a 7 hour drive. I see them every 2-3 months though.

Hey Jules...long time and so good to see you:D...I think the last personal contact we had was when your daughter was missing and we were all in prayer for her safety....
and i have to add and can honestly say..."There is no place like home"....it is so wonderful seeing and hearing how all the family has been and doing....

Boy can I tell some juicy off the wall stories about Bob! But, I cannot do so here in a public forum. Suffice to say I am so relieved that the burden is over!
Bob had an operation on his spine to remove some damaged bone on the lower spinal cord and had a plate screwed in. This gave him felling in his legs and can stand for a short time now. The Dr.s felt that he probably never be able to walk again. There was just too much damage. But, then again, he is so stubborn that he will eventually be able to.... in time!

You make perfect sense!! ;)
