Buford cut some of the lower limbs off the pine trees so he could mow under them. Well he didn't cut enough of them and when he was mowing under them a limb caught him under the chin and knock him off the mower. It kept going and ran over my Limelite hydrangea and cut all but 2 of the branchs down to the ground before it stopped. The roots were pulled part way out of the ground. He tapped the roots down and added more soil around and watered it good. Do you think it will live? Is there anything else we need to do? He wasn't hurt just a lot of bruises and sore muscles.
Before and after pictures.

That must have been heart breaking for the two of you!
Buford did all he could do to salvage your Limelight!
Only time will tell on how it will look like when it recovers!
Next year will be a better year!

Ron's right Maggie....hydrangeas are also tough little fellas....just keep an eye on it as it's had a heck of a shock, it should be fine. Buford did a great job of plant first aid too!

Thanks Ron and John. I so hope your right. It was prettier this year than its ever been. Hopefully next year it will have some new branchs.
